VOIP
The Radio Over Internet Protocol (ROIP) interface provides the capability to connect a standard mobile or base radio to a network or the internet. Two ROIP interfaces can communicate to each other providing a remote radio capability. The ROIP interface can also be used between a radio and a computer.
This can be utilized in many different scenarios such as linking two different areas where radios are being used either across town or across the country. Even in a different country. This will allow radios to talk transparently from area to area.
The ROIP interface also allows for a computer to be used to communicate over a radio channel by using a microphone and speaker. This would allow a user to communicate over a radio system from anywhere that there is internet access.

| Example Scenario: Area to Area Extension • This configuration allows for communications between two coverage areas. • Each coverage area may be on the same or different channels or even different bands. • Any user in each area can communicate with any user in the second area. • Communications between areas is real-time and completely transparent to the user. |
